Guided Nondual Meditation with Michael Taft

Meditation

So let’s begin the meditation by simply checking in with yourself. The query is: what’s it prefer to be me at once? So just look directly inward, what’s the thoughtscape like? What’s the emotional-emotionscape like? What’s your body feel like? What’s the world seem to be to you at once? So what’s the inner temperature of your being? The inner weather of your being, and whatever that’s, just completely accept that, let that be 100% okay. Even should you’re feeling completely miserable, or really upset, or totally chaotic, or whatever. We’re not about judging that at once. Right away, we’re just noticing what’s happening. So I’m going to offer you a minute or two to simply do this.

Now, let’s begin doing our shamatha within the open awareness style. So that is what would normally be called concentration meditation, but as a substitute of narrowly concentrating, we start by just noticing wide open awareness, keeping awareness wide open, or, to place it more accurately, allowing it to stay in its broad, vast natural mode. It’s like that by itself, without us doing anything. After which, we’re just noticing the breath wave rising and falling inside awareness. Okay?

So that you’re aware at once, you possibly can hear my voice, and similar to you possibly can hear my voice, notice that breath wave rising and falling. The one difference is: you’re allowing the breath wave to simply barely be like an anchor, just a bit bit. But you’re not specializing in it. It’s not

like once you attend to the breath on the nose or a few of that high-concentration style meditation. That is a special type of concentration. So we’re–it’s inclusive concentration,

as a substitute of exclusive. So we’re allowing awareness for me very broad, very wide, vast open and just noticing that breath wave rising and falling. Every time you notice yourself contracting into attention on something, you’re going to calm down that focus, and as a substitute allow the mind to fall open, fall back into its natural state of vast spaciousness.

Probably the most accurate metaphor for awareness or the with a capital M–i.e. awareness itself–essentially the most accurate metaphor is: it’s like space. The one real difference is that it’s right? It’s space that’s aware. So just allow the mind to fall into its already existing natural state of spaciousness, which is what it’s like after we’re not on purpose contracting into attention. So let’s do this now.

Every time the mind seems to begin to constrict around an object to listen to, just let it calm down, just let it naturally unfold. You don’t must push it to try this. It’s just what it does. It’s like attempting to push yourself to breathe, you’ll breathe without trying. The mind will fall open without trying. That’s its natural state.

And so, the breath is just rising and falling in awareness, functioning as barely enough of an anchor. The steadiness here–because in shamatha, stability is a component of the sport–the steadiness here is in awareness itself. You’re never not aware, the attention is at all times on there and naturally open.

So, let’s keep going with this.

Effortless respiratory, effortless awareness, effortless spaciousness.

Your mind might get excited and wish to hold onto an interesting idea and begin to constrict around that but just calm down, just drop that and are available back to open awareness but with a bit tiny little bit of landing on the breath.

Good, now we’re going to let go of that, and I would like you to picture a full moon against an indigo blue sky–so deepest blue, perhaps even aubergine sky. After which a full moon, not quite perfect white, a bit cream coloured because–just a bit bit–but very beautiful like a color of sunshine, of whitish light that you just find tremendously attractive. So picture that clearly. For those who can’t picture it clearly, just do the very best you possibly can. That is going to be more about mood than about how good you possibly can visualize. Now zoom in on that moon, zoom in on that moon, and I would like you to simply feel the sweetness and pleasantness of it, the softness, the gentleness of that light. It’s not like the daylight, which may be a bit harsh; that is gentle, beautiful light, soothing, healing, nurturing light. And see should you can notice the three-dimensional quality of that sphere of the moon as you get even closer and it gets brighter.

And now we go further into the mood of this moon, which is basically the moon of the woke up mind, right? The moon of bodhicitta, the moon of your individual deepest already existing primordial purity. And so the sunshine of this moon is reaching out and touching you with a way of tremendous compassion. It’s very kind, very loving, it’s really open; it’s delighting in your presence quite than judgmental; and you’re feeling an actual sense of friendship and heat and being known and understood. Moreover, this moon is tremendously sensible and assured. It has perfect confidence and authenticity. It’s what it’s. And you are feeling, again, these waves of wisdom, clarity, confidence, authenticity, even nobility pouring from the moon into you.

There’s one other aspect to the moon which is: it’s spontaneous, it’s playful, and it’s energetic; it has quite a lot of life energy, zest, vigor, health; it’s very playful, spontaneous, unafraid. Feel that, waves of this spontaneity and vigor, and playfulness radiating from this moon into your being, filling you up with these qualities and even beyond. Filling you up a lot that your individual body begins to shine, begins to be less like flesh, less like bone, and more like moonlight–a shining moonlight with these qualities of wisdom, kindness, and energy. Your body growing brighter and brighter and your mind becoming clearer and clearer and clearer. And spot how your heart starts really taking over these properties of really being soft and open, stuffed with a delicate sense of affection and appreciation, and acceptance, and kindness, caring, including everyone, rejecting nobody.

And this moonlight body begins to shine even brighter, and feel prefer it’s seething with energy, with liveliness, and it brings up a way of playfulness, a way of spontaneity, vigor, and even stronger joy. And now, breathe the moon outside into this moonlight body, in order that the external moon becomes internal, and the sunshine of the body becomes very vibrant, and there’s no more separation. You’re the wisdom, the woke up wisdom, of this moonlight. You’re the deepest compassion, you might be the tremendous liveliness and playfulness and all the opposite properties shining within the vast sky of awareness, stronger and stronger, and at the identical time increasingly soothing, increasingly deliciously gentle and open.

And feel the sunshine of the moon that you just are radiating out to all of the others on this room and, in reality, becoming one, joining together into one larger moonlight, radiating out to town around us, and your complete world, radiating out to the entire universe, and even other universes. There’s just the sunshine of wisdom and compassion and life energy filling the universe, and all possible universes, and all beings all over the place. And see if, in a really gentle way, you possibly can tap into it, much more deeply and much more strongly, in order that it touches the entire of the entire mass of sentient beings all over the place, much more deeply, much more sweetly, much more profoundly.

Good. Now, the sunshine of this moon has a sound and the sound is the mantra . So repeat that with me.

The sunshine getting brighter and brighter.

And even brighter.

After which the moon itself and the moon body and every thing completely vanishes into space, and we’re just left with wide open, unblemished, vibrant, clear, unbounded space of awareness. And let’s just meditate on that space for a moment, the space noticing itself. Similar to you were doing before but without even centering on the breath, centering on nothing–just awareness itself, wide open. Every time you end up constricting around an object with attention, just calm down that and let the attention naturally, effortlessly fall open again, fall open again, fall open again.

Every time the mind constricts, contracts, tightens down on something, just calm down. Drop it, and the mind will naturally just open up again. The habit of constriction could be strong but you don’t must fight it. Fighting it’s just one other form of constriction. You don’t fight the constriction, you simply let go, just calm down and it naturally opens back to awareness.

Let there be no tension of any kind within the mind. If there tension don’t fight it because that’s just more tension, just allow the mind to calm down.

That is its own form of stability, this wide-open tensionless-ness may be very stable. If it’s not at once, it’s simply because you could have a habit of tension but as you proceed to do that, that habit will regularly calm down. It takes quite a lot of effort to have a habit of tension. The habit of relaxing the mind is far easier.

For those who’re contracted around anything, especially a thought, but really anything in any respect, just calm down that, come back to wide openness, natural wide openness that’s at all times there. It’s at all times already been there.

Good. Now, notice whatever thoughts keep attempting to arise, and similar to the breath wave was rising and falling in awareness, notice that those thoughts are only arising and congealing after which falling away again in awareness. You don’t really want to listen to them, they’re just rising and falling, rising and falling. And see should you can notice that they’re not coming from anywhere or anything, they’re just thoughts which are appearing within the vast sky of awareness, and that they simply also disappear from the vast sky of awareness, they usually don’t even have any basis, they don’t even have any fundamental underlying thingness. There’s only a wave of experience of thought happening, it’s not a thing in any respect. The thoughts don’t actually have a thinker, they simply appear in awareness after which disappear from awareness. Awareness stays utterly unchanged. They don’t cause some form of scar of unawareness or perhaps a marring, they don’t leave scratches, they don’t even cause the slightest ripple. They simply appear and do their dance and disappear, like images on a TV screen, the photographs don’t harm the screen and even hassle it in any way.

That is emptiness. Notice the emptiness of those thoughts. Emptiness doesn’t mean they’re not there or one way or the other they don’t matter, it signifies that they’re just appearances, appearances that come and go, and that if we’re centered–or resting stably is a greater method to put it–if we’re resting stably as awareness, the thoughts just come and go and don’t really hassle or change awareness in any respect. So notice that now.

Notice how the entire world of thought, the inner world of thought, which we spend a lot time with engaged with prefer it’s so essential, here it seems similar to perhaps some northern lights within the sky, or something, just something that’s appearing and vanishing. And so, it’s a phenomenon, but it surely’s not likely fundamentally essential. It doesn’t define awareness even a bit bit.

Good. Now let’s switch, as usual, to emotions. Perhaps there’s some emotions arising, perhaps not. Perhaps you’re just experiencing a form of vast equanimity, but when there’s emotions–there could also be frustration or irritation or joy, perhaps, perhaps you’re bored and checking the time, emotions are arising–feel those emotions in the very same way that you just noticed the considering. The emotions are there; they’re rising and falling in awareness, and yet awareness itself is just not bothered, harmed, or touched by the emotions in any way. It just notices. Emotions arise and pass, and arise and pass, perhaps more slowly than thoughts, but still, they arise from nothing, do their dance, after which vanish again into nothing. They don’t come from anywhere. They’re just there and awareness itself is just not bothered by them in any way.

We spend a lot of our time attempting to have different thoughts and different emotions but really they don’t affect us, they don’t affect our awareness in any respect, not the slightest bit.

Good. Okay, now, notice the sense of self arising and passing; usually, it’s product of the thoughts and feelings, but there may be a bit more there–another body sensations, memories, the story of your life, who you might be, your form of social being–allow that sense of self to arise. It exists; we’re not attempting to do away with it. Be really you for a minute, as should you were introducing yourself at a celebration or something. Here’s me and the personality I manifest, which is superb; no judgment there, right? And at the identical time, notice it just arises in awareness. Awareness notices it, does its dance, after which it passes away again, vanishing from awareness. It doesn’t come from anywhere. It doesn’t change awareness in any respect.

If it does something that everybody thinks is great and it gets all proud, that’s cool, good, good for it, good for it. Nothing unsuitable with that. If it’s a personality that folks are likely to really like, great, good for it, but it surely doesn’t change awareness in any respect; it simply arises in awareness and vanishes away again, not leaving a single trace, not leaving a mark of any kind. And the identical is true should you do something really socially bad and you’re feeling all ashamed, or you could have a personality that folks are likely to dislike. Okay, that sucks, but it surely doesn’t harm awareness the tiniest bit; it doesn’t leave a mark ever.

And since you’re not that personality, you’re free to alter it, improve it, make it simpler. Why not? But regardless of how effective it becomes, regardless of how likable, regardless of how smooth in society–all of which is a great thing, right? However it’s never going to enhance awareness. The personality simply arises in awareness and vanishes. Notice that now very clearly, over and once more. The you that you just spend all this time considering that you just are is just a few experience arising and passing in awareness, arising and passing in awareness.

Now, what is that this awareness? Is it God? Is it some form of soul? Is it an undying light? What’s it? Allow the attention to easily know itself–this thing wherein all the opposite things are arising and passing. Allow the attention to simply see itself. Notice something really interesting: it’s not coming from anywhere; it has no center; it has no boundary; it has no starting that you could find or end you’ll ever find; but it surely’s not a thing either; it’s just awakeness coming from nowhere.

The undeniable undeniable fact that it’s awake, it’s there, there’s an experience. Yet you possibly can’t find the idea

of this awakeness. You may’t look into it and go, Yes, there’s the foundation, that’s where it comes from. It’s just there.

So all experience–the experience of thoughts, emotions, your sense of self, and the room around you, and the world around you, and all that–is appearing like a magic show. It’s there as an experience, clearly, and yet, it’s not coming from anywhere. It just appears. There’s this experience; it just appears, and that appearance is just like the deepest unfathomable mystery. Take a look at that now, let the experience and see: you possibly can’t find the underside of it. It’s a bottomless well of mystery. It’s not nothing; there’s an experience, and yet, in one other way, it’s not either since it’s just experience. It’s the one and only miracle–experience happening.

Now into this vast space of awareness, bring up again the moon: the moon of wisdom, the moon of affection and compassion, the moon of joy and playfulness, and spontaneity. It arises within the sky of awareness, full and vibrant, radiating through your entire being, bringing wisdom to your mind, clarity, authenticity, bringing joy, love, kindness, connection, openness to the guts, bringing liveliness, vitality, health, playfulness, spontaneity into the body, and shining vibrant in all directions. Actually, shining so vibrant that it brings these qualities to all of the beings on this room and all of the beings all over the place. After we say beings, we mean sentient beings. What can we mean by sentient beings? The rest that’s having an experience. It’s the identical miracle radiating vibrant in all directions; feel especially the enjoyment, feel the acceptance, feel the kindness, friendliness, togetherness, open-heartedness. That’s one in all the principal qualities of awake awareness. As we imagine those feelings, and feel those feelings, our own innate bodhicitta, our own innate buddhahood, our own innate awake awareness shines through brightly, powerfully, beautifully, authentically. Feel that now.

After which drop the visualization and just come back to the wide open space, crystal clear, utterly open. Good, and with that allow’s end the meditation. Be at liberty to maneuver and stretch.

Dharma Talk Q & A

There could be a real tendency to–after we talk this manner after we meditate this manner–there could be a real tendency to make the attention right into a thing, to make it god, to make it a goddess, to make it the soul, to make it the sunshine of the universe, or something. All of which is superb; should you want it, great. Make it into that. I’m not against that. That’s cool. At the identical time, remember that you could’t find the idea, so in the identical way as every thing else, it’s not prefer it’s the one solid thing you possibly can hang on to. It, itself, can also be form of oddly appearing from nowhere, oddly present in some form of mysterious, unexplainable way.

So should you end up, I’m gonna, I’m gonna, I’m gonna, , the world and my thoughts, and my emotions, and my sense of self, and every thing could be some form of dreamlike arising, however the Well, the attention is a dream-like arising also, right? It doesn’t mean they’re not there, but it surely’s not just like the one, … At the very least we’ve got awareness. It’s equally–go find some. You may’t really find the idea. So should you notice yourself form of reifying it, and even deifying it, try to seek out the idea of it. Look. Where is the attention coming from? Immediately, you possibly can’t find it, right? And should you look repeatedly and again, you possibly can’t find where it comes from.

And so it has that very same unfindability which is right? It’s just as dreamlike as every thing else in that sense it has some interesting properties, right? It’s primordially pure, it’s one other way of claiming it’s empty, but it surely has this type of perfect purity, or lets say completeness. Nothing ever can harm it or stain it or adulterate it or make an admixture with it, it’s at all times just completely pure and it has the opposite property that there’s all this spontaneous arising inside it, right? This continuous spontaneous arising, every thing appears and what’s interesting is there are those things–we are able to speak about them as separate but they at all times come together, right? The attention is there and the looks is there they usually’re at all times together. So there’s that. Don’t make it right into a thing.

You may definitely have devotion towards awareness. It’s form of a weird method to speak about it but it surely’s an interesting thing to be dedicated to. So we are able to do things like that with it. It’s not like, Oh, it’s nothing. I’m not saying it’s nothing but just don’t consider it as only a stand-in for god, or something, right? If there’s gods, they exist in awareness. So there’s that.

And it’s not that you just are over here awareness over there, right? Take into consideration how unimaginable that might be; to step outside the attention after which look back and have awareness of the attention with another awareness. That’s not how it really works. You may’t step outside it and there’s no like little you, that’s a homunculus inside your head, stepping outside and searching at it. It’s quite common to try to try this but it surely doesn’t work really. It’s just: awareness is aware of itself and it doesn’t need any distance. It doesn’t must, it’s not physical, it doesn’t must step to a special position to look back at itself. It’s just aware. So should you’re making that move, Okay, I’m going to get a ways, I’m going to show around and look back at the attention, all of that’s only a waste of time. That does nothing except waste your time. As an alternative, awareness is aware of itself. It’s easy, too easy that’s why you are trying to do the entire other thing but just let go of that. So there’s that.

After which a 3rd thing to not do, that is the don’t do that list, and that’s: imagine that since the self and thoughts and feelings and every thing else is a form of appearance in experience, an appearance in awareness that you could’t find the idea of, that doesn’t mean it’s nothing, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter, that doesn’t mean it’s–or sometimes it could possibly be even worse–we are able to say that it’s a delusion or some form of problem getting in the way in which of awareness or something. No, no, it’s just awareness manifesting as experience. So it’s just as pure, just as sacred, just as beautiful, etc., etc. in that perspective. So, kind of creating this division between: here is the proper pure sacred awareness over here, i.e. god; after which, here’s the world over there that’s dirty and smelly and has armpits and nose hair and it’s gross and never awareness, right? Samsara or the fallen Eden, or whatever, that folks are likely to do this, it’s like no, they’re one thing, they’re one thing, that’s not a thing, right? But they’re never separate. In order that’s one other No-No.

Questions or comments about what I’m talking about? Or anything to do along with your experience or meditation? Raise your hand if you could have one.

Questioner 1: Only a report, I notice that looking for awareness.

MT: What’s looking for it?

Questioner 1: The feeling I get is like getting my nose closer and closer to a bit of glass until eventually I just hand over and in that moment is a sense of just being awareness.

MT:  What you possibly can’t find is the source of it. In order that’s right. Just keep–you don’t actually must undergo the entire thing of getting closer to it, but okay, if that works, but then just the being it, great. But notice should you then as awareness search around for where do I come from? When did I begin in time? What’s my boundary or edge? Where’s the middle of awareness? What’s this fountain what’s the origin the source, the Where’s the attention come from? You may’t find it. In order that’s the unfindability part. Drop in search of the source.

Excellent. So that is super common since the metaphors for awareness are visual metaphors and since a lot of our experience is eye-based coming from the eyeballs, we are able to feel like awareness is our vision. But vision just arises in awareness. In order that’s a very essential distinction to maintain clear. Do you see what I’m saying? what I’m saying, right? So it doesn’t mean you’re becoming vision ultimately or that the vision is even deeply related, it’s just one other thing arising in awareness. Actually, the entire–calm down your eyes and see the entire visual field without delay–how do there’s a visible field? How do there’s a visible field? Since you’re aware of it, right? It’s arising in awareness, so isn’t that interesting. Thanks to your report. That’s cool.

Other questions on that? Nope, what else? Are you guys just so blown away you’re speechless?

Questioner 2: I used to be interested by vision, as well. It looks as if what’s been working for me

is to see like once you were talking concerning the moon I used to be frustrated that I couldn’t bring the moon into my visual awareness.

MT:  So that you’re talking about external visual site type awareness, or internal mental visualization?

Questioner 2: Okay, so imagination. I gave up attempting to pop the moon into my visual field.

MT: Good. That was the suitable thing to do. You’re not required, in this manner we’re working to see it in your mind’s eye. For those who can that’s good but so long as you’re feeling the qualities that’s the essential part.

Questioner 2: That was really helpful because I used to be really tuning into the indigo sky that you just were talking about. So I used to be getting these really nice colours and just trying not to connect to them, but that’s what letting my mind form of deal with that was what was allowing me to get to note awareness more.

MT: What was noticing the attention? Something different than the attention?

Questioner 2:  For me it’s more similar to a state, a sense state where I’m not claiming anything more. It’s beyond me. It really works I mean I I deeply know what you mean when your talking concerning the groundlessness of it and the timelessness. I can’t at all times get there but this time I did. What tricks did you employ and what’s–I feel like using the visual stuff perhaps a method. Is there a more basic way or something?

MT: That’s the entire topic of multi-year classes, right? Because there’s so many alternative ways to work with it, but what we did tonight was get all calm and focused, but in addition really open, really open-hearted–that’s a high quality, we just took on the qualities of awake awareness. As I’m

at all times saying, should you sit in here and picture taking over the qualities of a brain surgeon, you possibly can do that every one day but please don’t go operate on someone’s brain, right? It’s not gonna–might help one percent but you’ll still cause catastrophe. But because you actually are–the idea of your being is that this awake awareness, imagining these properties of awareness takes you into that actual–at the least closer–to that true experience inside yourself or that true experience, right? So it’s an imagination that is definitely leading you into that a part of yourself. In order that it’s yidam practice, right? We’re just guiding our internal experience into our wisdom mind into our compassion mind into our playful spontaneous mind, right? In order that’s the trick we’re using tonight but then we did a second trick which is: now have a look at the things which are keeping you out of that, have a look at your thoughts, notice their emptiness, notice like that. So we did several alternative ways of dropping into and clarifying that have. You with me?

Questioner 2:  Yep.

MT: But there’s tons of more. The awake awareness, the wisdom mind, your Buddha nature, whatever, that’s the idea from which we’re coming from, the groundless ground. So every thing leads back to it, so there’s potentially infinite tricks. These are only a few of the perennial favorites. Okay, yeah good, thanks for the query.

What else? Comments?

Questioner 3: I’m just wondering, why do I at all times get so exhausted immediately in these sorts of energetic settings?

MT: I don’t know. Why do you’re thinking that? Do you get enough sleep? And are you potentially working through quite a lot of psychological emotional material as of late? Yeah, so I can’t answer that. I’d must talk over with you for some time one-on-one and really get in there. A few of it could be there’s just quite a lot of internal work happening and there’s resource here so that you’re form of plugging in–you’re like Seven of Nine going into your charging chamber and just energizing yourself, or perhaps once you get into this charged atmosphere you begin to enter material, and this–I’m not saying that is you–but for some people, a few of the time they don’t want to come across that material and so one in all the ways out is to enter distraction, Oh, I’m getting really bored, I’m getting really distracted because I don’t wish to see that thing down here, but one other thing you possibly can do is go unconscious. It’s actually a fairly common move. I’m just going to go to sleep, despite the fact that I’m not drained because I’d quite do this than see that thing in order that’s one other possibility.

Questioner 4: I just desired to say that in a bunch setting like this, if we’re all form of resonating, almost certainly our heartbeats are synchronizing, and I feel it looks like a very held protected environment that somebody can like lean into.

MT: Almost like Seven of Nine’s recharging chamber.

Questioner 4: Sometimes it looks like I even have to–like there’s like a bit little bit of oomph to to remain form of focused on this because to me this feels all cushy and wavy in there.

Questioner 3: Yeah. A part of me just wanted to twist up and let the Zees in.

MT: Yeah and that’s right. It’s a really resource-rich environment. So That’s what you would possibly do sometimes in Yoga Nidra, you actually do curl up on the ground and just take in that vibe. It’s wonderful. So that may be a possibility though yeah, thanks for unpacking that. But the opposite one is form of the potential avoidance and I’m sure there’s more, but those are the 2 that come up at once.

Questioner 5: Yeah, I would like to accumulate on that, on what was said. I had a stupendous regression experience. When–I feel like halfway through the moon–I used to be essentially a baby in a blanket after which I feel laying within the crib, with all these different toys and lights hanging above. And my attention was so–like my attention was definitely there–I used to be so wide and form of like almost completely not discriminating. So I could have a look at different thoughts or feelings as just toys or lights and just being entertained and completely happy and joyful. The eye span was so quick but not like in an annoying quick way. It was more instantaneous. I could listen to all of the things without delay.

MT: Yeah, that’s an awesome metaphor. I’m spending quite a lot of time with a brand-new baby, right? And a brand latest baby has that form of like they will’t constrict attention, it’s wide open attension on a regular basis, but very awake. And every thing’s form of interesting, unless you could have to poop or whatever. However it’s not regression and why? Because you continue to have the mind of an adult with all of the memory and experience and understanding of the world and all that so it’s not about regression into some oatmeal brain or something. All the fabric continues to be there so it’s actually a step up. It might feel regressive since it has qualities just like the mind of a baby and everybody talks about that, it’s like fresh mind, beginner’s mind, don’t know mind, it’s like playful spontaneous like a toddler. It’s a very common metaphor since it does have all these properties.

A very famous dialogue between Freud and this one French writer, I can’t consider the French writer’s name, but he had gone and seen Ramana Maharshi, and he got here back and was talking to Freud about all this open awareness stuff they usually’re each hanging out with their cigars and cognac, or whatever and Freud decides that that is just pure regression. It’s just totally regressive and so he names it the , it’s a thing, but it surely’s bad since you’re just turning right into a baby. I forget but I feel that’s the opening chapter of if I’m not mistaken, I could be mistaken, but he talks about it at length. And that’s actually an actual misunderstanding. It’s an interesting thing that Western psychology thinks that is just–or used to think–it’s similar to turning right into a flatworm, or something. They used to say that meditation was similar to taking a nap; it just had no value. So there’s a culturally habitual thing of creating it regressive but such as you said, it’s actually wonderful. And there’s more to it than what a baby would know. It’s a full wide awake adult mind taking over that mood of playful spontaneous openness which is definitely a step up, not a step back. So yeah, thanks to your report. That’s really cool. I like that metaphor: the shiny toys–good.
