I do guided respiratory exercises 🧘🏻‍♀️

After I’m stressed or anxious, I turn to guided exercises that help me control the flow of my breath. I take advantage of the Open app (though there are lots of free options online), which incorporates exercises that nearly at all times involve taking a deep, slow breath, holding it in, after which releasing it steadily.

The practice normally takes just just a few minutes and might be done anywhere — while walking, waiting for a train or sitting on a couch. I’ve found that the exercises can completely shift my mental state, leaving me feeling less frazzled and more calm.
